NPL Open Womens Trials - Looking for Players with Aspirations

Trials for the 2016 Playstation 4 National Premier Leagues Open Womens team will be held in October 2015. Trials will be held at Souths United on the following dates and times:

                Tuesday 13, 20 and 27 October             7.00pm – 8.00pm

                Saturday 17 and 24 October                 10.30am – 11.30am

                Friday 30 October                                  7.00pm - 8.00pm

Players are invited to attend. Expressions of Interest are to be sent to: nplwomens@southsunited.org.au. The Club’s Rules and Procedures for our FIFA Approved Synthetic Football Turf fields will then be forwarded.

Attractive player packages will be offered to those players that meet our criteria (ability, playing history and representative history).  Players will be part of a progressive team and club where its culture promotes players to strive and reach their potential, operating in a highly professional environment. 

It is imperative that a strong coaching structure underpins the Women’s Program and drive forward innovative and high performing teams. Souths United are currently implementing a whole of club coaching improvement plan which will build on the many successes of the club while taking opportunity to enhance target areas where  maximisation of team achievements will be a continued priority. The Playstation 4 National Premier Leagues (PS4 NPL) is FFA’s 2^nd tier Club competition and as such sits underneath the W-League. The pathway for players and coaches to the W-League and Matildas is via the PS4 NPL.

Souths United have a long and proud history of providing opportunity for female players at both the elite and community levels of competition and development. Our Vision for Female Football has reaped rewards over the past 5 years with our junior divisional girls’ teams performing well along with our senior women’s teams. Souths have hosted Junior Premier League girls’ teams since 2011 and the PS4 NPL girls since the inaugural year in 2013.

Souths United are fiercely proud and committed to the development of our players and coaches. We also support and implement FFA’s National Curriculum and continue to develop strong relationships with our catchment clubs to encourage a cohesive development pathway program for aspiring female players and coaches.

Souths United is the only club in Queensland to have FIFA 2 Star Recommended Football Turf fields. A little bit about Football Turf approved by FIFA. Only artificial playing surfaces which have been tested in the laboratory and on the field according to stringent testing criteria of the FIFA Quality Programme can be called football turf. This name means that those systems fulfil the quality requirements necessary for football in terms of Playing,Performance, Safety, Durability and Quality Assurance.

FIFA award two ratings for surfaces that meet the standards:

FIFA 1 Star Recommended fields that meet the standard for community and amateur fields
FIFA 2 star Recommended fields that ensure the highest playing performance for professional-level football

Play on the same standard field as Bayern Munich and other international venues.
