PS4 NPL for Womens Goalkeeper Coach Vacancy for 2016 Season

Souths United Football Club invite suitably qualified coaches to apply for Goalkeeper Coach for all goalkeepers within the Playstation 4 National Premier Leagues for womens teams for the 2016 season.

Souths United have a long and proud history of female football from juniors through to seniors. Souths United was one of the original clubs in the initial Elite program conducted by Football Queensland - Junior Premier League - a predecessor to the current PS4 NPL for Womens program.

Position Available:

Goalkeeper Coach.

Consideration to broaden scope to include our Capital League Division 1, Under 18 Division 1 and Brisbane Womens Premier League keepers.

Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant will possess a minimum Level 2 Goalkeeper Licence.

All applicants must display the appropriate behaviouirs for working with young people.

The successful applicant will be required to hold a current Positive Notice and Blue Card from the Queensland Government.

Required Skill Sets:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good written and oral skills
  • Must have had recent coaching experience with female teams preferably in the National Talented Player Pathway program
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of the FFA National Curriculum and a commitment to the development of female players.
  • A high level of professionalism with training sessions (preparation and delivery)
  • A high level of commitment. Must be available for all training sessions and games.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.

Training and Games:

Training will be 1 night per week. The successful applicant will be required to attend all home games and may attend away games.

Reporting Structure:

All positions will report directly to the Technical Director for technical matters and to the Vice-President - Womens or NPL Administrator for policy and administration matters.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the constant monitoring and ongoing reporting and evaluations of players due quartlerly.

The successful applicant must also liaise with team coaches regarding the development of the goalkeepers.

Competition:

Travel within Brisbane is required for games. Travel to neighbouring Zones is also required: Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and SW Qld (Toowoomba). 2016 competition format is still under review by Football Queensland.

It is expected that the majority of the games will be played on Sundays however some Saturday and Friday games may also be involved.

The season is expected to commence in February 2016 and conclude in late September.

Trials for the 2016 season will be conducted in October 2015 with training commencing in December for Womens and early January for the junior teams.

A physio will be available to the players at specified times throughout the week. Minimum requirements of Home clubs are to provide first aiders/strappers at every game.

Background:

The Playstation 4 National Premier Leagues (PS4 NPL) is FFA’s 2nd tier competition and as such, sits underneath the W-League. The pathway for players and coaches to the W-League and Matildas is via the PS4 NPL.

Souths United have a long history of providing opportunity for female players at both elite and association (social) level of competition and development. Our Vision for Female Football has reaped rewards over the past 5 years with our junior divisional girls’ teams performing well along with our senior women’s teams. Souths have hosted Junior Premier League girls’ teams since 2011 and PS4 NPL girls since the inaugural year in 2013.

Souths United are fiercely proud and committed to the development of our players and coaches. We also support and implement FFA’s National Curriculum and continue to develop strong relationships with our catchment clubs to encourage a cohesive development pathway program for aspiring female players and coaches.
